Boarding Train Life

This is Priyal Raj and I welcome you to Briste Down

Thanks for joining and hope you enjoy the ride

Welcome to this little journey of my experiences and emotions that embraces me in daily life. You’ll greet those as a little sentences, that I bind. My so called “Poems”. This place is my safe haven and I hope it becomes something for you too.

So passengers! Buckle yourself down. We are heading in The Unknown.

Sand and Sea

We are like sand and sea
yes, you and me
taking some parts of each other
while leaving ours
never meeting the half way
but the side of mine or yours

or rather,

We are like sand and sea
but it’s you taking a part of me
and leaving the rest in breeze
meeting the side you want
along the tide you fall
pushing and pulling
going back and forth
each time rubbing the old dust off
yes, you and me
just another sand and sea

Your Mirror

Look in the mirror
while you announce your verdict
Let it flow through you
the way you throw these words
thousand pebbles in the sea
it will only cause flooding

Look in the mirror
while you drown too
in this wrath caused by anguish
Maybe the breathlessness
make it dawn on you
Hit you like each push
before you sent me off the cliff

Look in the mirror
after the water has died down
in its own drought
you’ll see me
Afterall, I’m the image of you
that couldn’t survive
but I left you the parting gift
the mirror, truly yours…

A fool

I bind memories to words
so they won’t haunt me
Yet I get the pleasure
to see them time to time
Jumping off the reality
running in a different realm
searching a way out
until they show a mercy
to spit me out
Leaving me in puddle
hoping I’ll restore myself back
Oh! don’t I know
yet I pray
‘What a fool’
They say

I count

These flashes are the only lighthouses
to know my flesh still clung onto my bones
and the pounding is not of butcher’s knife
So I lay, engraving my another breath
adding one more to thousands
till they are just nature’s attrition
in someone’s collection of extinct artifacts
and surrounds me, the incense lifted of the dust
with each cross over the gravel
this earth mingled with rain is becoming more of me
Ah! hear those pattering over my song
of tiny pellets soaking in the skin,
the only clothing I wear,
sheding to elements
this melody honours me,
and with each mark I come close
to the mark I won’t draw

Meet

This city of metals and cement
under the veil that’s befallen upon it,
due to the restless heaven above
and swivelling elements around here,
A picture out of a horror set
where you hear death screams
All left are deserted streets,
silence hung upon
no more child’s dancing stage
seems the clock stilled tonight too

But it isn’t shabby for all
you knew if you had my glasses
or heard the violin drool,
as two long forgotten mate
clasp each other close
This reunion can be joyed
but not for long
they are apart for a reason
and if not, every being will drown

Oh! I feel you
y’all, the Cold and the Shrivel,
but for tonight, let’s forgive their selfishness
and let the lovers hold.

What am I

I’m a selenophile under new moon

a pluviophile wandering the desert

a pyromaniac lost in the sea

only that faint distant light

keep me holding this insatiable desire in,

to reach the unknown

while another me falls behind

whom I’ll never acknowledge again

So, I run over the parts of me

as camera zooms in

World find it amusing

like watching the hamster run

same mistake, same pattern

over and over again.

All I wish to stop

but I read the Newton

and this rock ball holds terms like

Inertia and Gravitation.

Now that I think

I be gladly be a hamster that’s been laughed on

than a rock mass lost in some thesis.

You and me

In the middle of night

between sweat and tears,

the shapeless form saw the light

Clinging to each of them

were the stories untold

from the other world: our world,

where you are missing now

All that’s left is those stories

hung between us, fading slow whatever we share

now all we trade is *sigh*

through the spaces

between you and me.
